In 1968, VISKHOM, together with the Gomselmash plant, developed a new KSS-2.6 combine by modernizing the KS-2.6 combine. The working width remained the same, but the strength and power of the header and chopping apparatus increased, which made it possible to increase the operating speed from 5 km/h to 12 km/h, and productivity from 40-50 t/h to 80-90 t/h.
